Sao Paulo

17 million people. One city.

sunny

Hadn't heard great things about Sao Paulo so only booked one night there but turned out to be a really cool city. Street food for lunch, shopping, huge buildings, Sunday markets, pretty cathedrals and lots of art is São Paulo. The backpackers we stayed at was really average so werent too sad to leave the next morning for Paraty and more beach life. 6ACFE577F661C91386FEA49C5AA7E8FA.jpg6AD82B2008BC13C55A308A4A67041B31.jpg6AE1B774F85439A49E18D70F0BF54DC4.jpg6AE75EBBD72B570E4558955AAE717A63.jpg6B02069CC402D2A3ABF1EE435DC3ADCF.jpg6B206E0BDC7C4F5B188D48BF846FC49C.jpg6B2E4F5CE4792AA45791650E5DB4D4DD.jpg6B42174C9849FE58502E1F1669509AE3.jpg

Florianopolis

Beaches!!

sunny

Florianopolis on Ilha Santa Catarina is beautiful. The whole island is surrounded by beaches. Only issue for us was getting around since it was huge. Stayed @ A central place close to main beaches for 2 nights then moved to the north part of the Island for our last night there. The beaches and food were awesome but seemed like the party aspect was missing since its low season at the moment. Was a pretty relaxing time.

Our final country BRAZIL!!

Porto Alegre

We got a few hours to check out Porto Alegre. Decided not to stay there as were a bit over big city's by this stage but after walking around it seemed like a pretty happening place. Huge Palm trees surround the main squares and so many food stalls. Danie was pretty impressed with the police uniforms, bikes and guns and we got to take part in some sort of protest. They were pretty loud but nothing too crazy. Had a pretty crappy lunch that was definitely not representative of Brazilian food! 686DC7EDAB95C4C3E27F0DD888211617.jpg687E237099A8D36DB1994730F73215DD.jpg688FECFE0EB23745337370E2014BA963.jpg68FB3897F0304E9B36D699DC615716FA.jpg68FE69BFD90E1DAF49149191B62523D6.jpg

We only spent one night in Montevideo Uruguay but we both agreed it was one of our favourite places. The people are just so friendly and willing to help. Great scenery and waterfront, beaches and food! Hired bikes at our hostel and have sore bums to show for it but was worth it going down the boardwalk and checking out markets and art. Just a beautiful city. Also visited the Andes crash museum ( rugby team plane crash) was pretty sobering, hard to believe any survived.

A wee snapshot of the four days we spent in Buenos Aires. This city has everything! Beautiful parks, old school architecture, huge range of food, best dancing and loads of vintage bargains. We stayed at circus hostel in San Telmo and made our way round the huge city by tourist bus and subway. Palermo was a good night out and La Boca the most colourful neighbourhood we've seen. Danie also got to see a hippo for the first time at their zoo. Stoked! Could easily live here.
